in memoriam: Henri Dutilleux
Today is the day when Henri Dutilleux would have turned 100.
For me, there are no words to properly account for his influence. My thinking, my music, and my sense of standards have all been incalculably improved since Alex Freeman first introduced me to Dutilleux’s work back when I was still an undergrad at Carleton College.
Today, I hope you’ll join me in remembering this magnificent musician by listening to his music with me.
